The Manu National Park is a protected area of global importance for biodiversity conservation due to its outstanding richness, vastness, and excellent conservation state. Scientists estimate that the park is inhabited by more than 200 species of mammals, 800 species of birds, 68 species of reptiles, and 77 species of amphibians.
This wildlife reserve is located at the confluence of the tropical Andes and the lowland forests of the Amazon. Its exceptional location has favored the emergence of extraordinarily diverse species and biological groups in a wide range of ecological circumstances.
A diverse mosaic of habitats and niches is produced by the enormous variation of height, microclimate, soils, and other ecological variables found in Manu National Park. There is a wide variety of plant biomes, from the andean grasslands, which appear uniform but are actually very diverse, to a variety of mostly pristine rainforests.
This 5 days tour is perfect for exploring the beautiful rainforests of the Madre de Dios region. You will be visiting the numerous oxbow lakes and the picturesque Madre de Dios river. This tour combines jungle treks, short boat rides, and camping. You will also have the chance to witness the unique flora and fauna of this remote wildlife sanctuary.

7:00 am
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco early in the morning. Then, we will drive to Paucartambo town, a cozy Andean village famous for its colonial church. You will have a short guided tour of the town. Then, we will visit the Tres Cruces viewpoint, from where we will get amazing views of the Andes mountains.
After having lunch, we will drive to the San Pedro cloud forest. Once we arrive at this wildlife sanctuary, you will have a guided tour where you will spot numerous birds, including the Gallito de las Rocas (Cock of the Rock).
Afterwards, we will accommodate you in a hotel room at Paradise Lodge, where you will have dinner and spend the rest of the night.
We will leave the lodge after having a traditional breakfast. Then, we will drive to the Atalaya Port. Before arriving there, we will stop at a viewpoint, from where we will be able to get astonishing views of the rainforest.
Once we arrive at Atalaya Port, we will board a boat to some local hot springs. There, you will have the chance to bathe in the hot spring’s relaxing waters. Then, we will have a traditional Amazonian lunch.
Afterwards, we will go to our Jungle Lodge. Our staff will help you to accommodate in a room. Then, you will have the rest of the afternoon to relax and enjoy the calmness of the Manu National Park.
After dinner, you will have a nocturnal hike through the nearby rainforest. You will be able to spot some elusive nocturnal animals.
We will leave the lodge after having breakfast. Then, we will explore in depth the rainforests of the Manu National Park. You will be hiking among the lush jungles of this wildlife reserve. You will be able to spot numerous birds, monkeys, and insects. Also, our expert guide will teach you some jungle survival techniques. Amidst the trek, we will stop to have lunch.
In the late afternoon, we will arrive at our campsite, where we will set up our camping tents, have dinner, and spend the night.
We will leave our campsite early in the morning. Then, we will hike back to our jungle lodge, where you will have a traditional breakfast. Then, we will leave our lodge to visit the beautiful Machuwasi Lake. Once there, you will spot caimans, turtles, and birds on the lake’s shores. We will have lunch on one of the edges of Machuwasi Lake.
After witnessing the sunset on the lake, we will go to Soga de Oro Lodge, where we will have dinner and spend the rest of the night.
We will wake up early in the morning to visit the famous Macaw Clay Lick. At this place hundreds of macaws and parrots gather to eat minerals. We will enjoy this multicolored spectacle. Then, we will return to the lodge to have breakfast.
Afterwards, we will leave the lodge to go to Atalaya Port. Once there, we will board a bus to return to Cusco city, where we will be arriving at night.
