The Manu National Park is a protected natural area with exceptional biodiversity. This conservation area is located between the Madre de Dios and Cusco regions, in Peru. It ranges in altitude from 300 m.a.s.l. (984 feet) at the confluence of the Manu and Madre de Dios rivers, to more than 4000 m.a.s.l. (13123 feet) at the summit of the Apu Kaajhuay mountain.
The park safeguards a wide variety of flora, consisting of 2,000 to 5,000 species, and fauna, consisting of over 2,000 species. The Manu National Park also protects the cultural values of the native inhabitants of the reserve. Many of these local populations have never interacted with the outside world.
This tour is perfect for exploring the most beautiful landscapes of the Amazon rainforest. In the span of 6 days, you will visit the Madre de Dios and the Manu river. You will be able to spot giant river otters, black caimans, as well as numerous species of monkeys. Also, you will have some night walks of the rainforest to complement your travel experience.

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco early in the morning. Then we will drive to Ninamarca town, where we will visit the famous Lupacas burial towers, also known as chullpas. Then, we will drive to Paucartambo town, a cozy Andean village famous for its colonial temple. We will have lunch in Paucartambo.
After exploring Paucartambo, we will visit the nearby Tres Cruces viewpoint. From there, we will be able to get incredible views of the Andes mountains. Afterwards, we will descend to the cloud forests of the Manu.
You will have a short guided tour of these incredible rainforests. Then, our staff will transfer you to your room at Paradise Lodge. You will have dinner and spend the rest of the night there.
We will wake up early in the morning to have a delicious Amazonian breakfast. Afterwards, we will drive to Atalaya Port. Before reaching the port, we will stop at a viewpoint to appreciate the beauty of the surrounding rainforests.
Once at Atalaya Port, we will board a motor boat to explore the Madre de Dios River. Along the trip, you will be able to spot the most emblematic animal species of the reserve. You will see different species of bird and butterflies, as well as capybaras and macaws.
We will reach Hummingbird Lodge around 5:00 pm. Then, our personnel will accommodate you in a room. After having dinner, you will have a guided nocturnal hike around the lodge.
After having breakfast early in the morning, we will leave Hummingbird Lodge. After passing the Limonal checkpoint, we will explore the waters of the Manu river. You will be able to spot animals such as white and black caimans on the river’s shores. If we are lucky, we will be able to spot a jaguar drinking water from the river.
Then, we will reach Casa Matsiguenka, a jungle lodge managed by the Matsiguenka community. After having lunch, we will visit the Cocha Otorongo, a pristine lake populated by hundreds of birds and giant otters.
Afterwards, we will return to the lodge, where you will have dinner. After dinner, you will have another night hike through the surrounding rainforests.
After having breakfast, we will visit the Cocha Salvador, an oxbow lake located in the middle of the Manu. We will spend the rest of the day there. You will have the chance to practice canoeing and wildlife spotting. After lunch, we will return to our lodge to have dinner and spend the rest of the night.
We will leave our lodge after having breakfast. Then, we will navigate on the Madre de Dios river. We will be navigating for around 5 hours before arriving at our Jungle Lodge. Along the trip, you will spot animals such as capybaras, giant otters, and caimans on the river’s shores.
Once in our lodge, our staff will accommodate you in your room. After dinner, you will have a nocturnal hike of the surrounding forests.
We will have a delicious Amazonian breakfast. Then, we will leave our lodge to sail to Atalaya Port. Once there, you will board our private transportation to return to Cusco city. You will be arriving at Cusco around 5:00 pm.
